Solar Panel With Sun On Them

Solar Panels For Warehouses

Make full use of unused warehouse roof space with solar PV panels. Turn your commercial or industrial unit into the home of a greener, more energy-efficient business with a solar PV system that generates free, pollution-free electricity. With your private supply of free electricity powering your daily productivity, you will make huge savings on your electricity bills. While Solar PV is a considerable investment, it promises to pay you back over time as you spend less on powering your business. Energy produced on site that isn’t consumed can be sold back to the National Grid, earning you profit over time.

At Dynamic Solar, we focus on enhancing energy efficiency through renewable energy solutions. Solar PV panels are just part of the system. To truly get the most out of your green energy supply, battery storage is a crucial consideration. Our end-to-end service includes a free quote so you can have a clear picture of how much solar PV installations cost before going ahead. As every building and every business differs, so do our estimated costs and timescales for every project. If you would like a clear break-down of our services and what we can do for you, speak to us today and arrange for a member of our team to visit your property.

Why Install Solar Panels at your Warehouse

  • Carbon-free living

Solar power has zero carbon output, using solar energy to generate electricity. Solar PV is an environmentally friendly, renewable option for powering your industry and business.

  • Make every kilowatt count

Electricity that you don’t use can be sold back to your energy supplier, making back money based on their Solar Export Tariff.

  • Store what you don’t use

Using solar batteries, energy that isn’t consumed during the day can be stored for use overnight, reducing the need for using back-up generators or using the national power supply.

  • Save your money

A self-sufficient source of electricity means reduced utility bill costs. Solar PV can provide your electricity, heating, and hot water at your farm.

  • Protection from inflation increases and power outages

You won’t be caught out by any rising electricity prices or unexpected local power outages, experiencing no impacts on your farming business.

FAQs

Solar Panel Maintenance

On top of the product warranty, we also provide workmanship warranty and insurance. We also are on hand to carry out maintenance as solar panels are exposed to the elements and, over time, can be in need of a once-over to ensure they are in top functionality. We can carry out any repair work, upkeep and also offer any extras that we believe can enhance your renewable electric supply.

How Much Do Solar Panels Cost?

On average, installations can cost between £6,000 - £13,000 depending on the size of the system. This would include all supply, installation and access equipment (scaffolding). However, every job is different which is why we arrange for free surveys so we can provide you a bespoke quote free of charge.

Is it worth getting solar panels?

With electric prices only rising, more and more households are making the move to supply their own source of free electricity for security down the line. The initial investment will only pay off in the future, saving thousands of pounds that would have been spent on utility bills and making back money through the SEG (Solar Energy Guarantee).

We strongly recommend that if you wish to fit solar panels, you also consider having battery storage installed so you use stored electricity during the night and during hours where the weather is overcast. Wall-mounted batteries can come as hybrid converters, an essential for your solar power system, saving on space in your home.

Can I run my warehouse just on solar panels?

Yes. However, this depends on your electricity consumption and how many solar panels can be fitted to your property. As long as your panels can keep up with the demand, and you have a battery storage system in place, your house can be powered mainly through renewable energy.

What types of industrial facilities can benefit from solar panel installations?

Solar panels can benefit warehouses, factories, manufacturing plants, and other industrial facilities with access to sunlight and suitable roof space. For roof-mounted panels, we will always check the structural integrity of the roof and supporting structures. Any building, as long as there isn’t too much cover, is suitable for solar panel installations. We can fit solar panels on slanted roofs and flat roofs.

Do I need planning permission for solar panels?

While installing solar panels is considered as ‘permitted development’ by most local authorities, there are some conditions that may mean you need to contact the council for confirmation.

You can find out more about the conditions here.

When we carry out a survey of your property and provide a quote, we will advise if you need planning permission as we are familiar with the local requirements.

Does the Feed-in scheme still exist for solar power?

The Small Exports Guarantee (SEG) scheme has replaced the Feed-in scheme, which the UK Government closed in 2018. The SEG allows households to gain a licence that gives them the freedom to export renewable energy back to the national grid, receiving payment from their choice of electric supplier. Each energy supplier offers a tariff rate for exported solar energy and we recommend that you shop around to see which tariff is best for your circumstances as your existing supplier may have a low tariff.

We can help point you in the right direction towards a supplier that will provide the most lucrative options if selling power back to the grid is an opportunity you can make the most out of.

How do solar panels benefit warehouses and industrial buildings?

Solar PV panels produce free electricity, cutting back on the need to depend on the national electricity supply. All appliances connected to the solar system will not be costing you a single penny as long as they’re using your renewable energy source. Solar panels can also provide a decree of cooling for warehouses, absorbing the sunlight. While it’s not a consideration at present, solar panels also increase property value.

What is the typical payback period for a solar panel installation on a warehouse?

Payback periods vary but are often between 5 to 10 years, depending on factors like energy consumption, local sunlight conditions, and the cost of the installation.

Do I need to make modifications to my warehouse’s electrical system to accommodate solar panels?

At Dynamic Solar, our team of experienced electricians will handle all adjustments to your electrical system. We will need to install inverters and wire your system into your existing system. When we visit your property, we will factor in complications and provide our recommended project plan so that we can ensure you get the most out of your solar system.

How long does the solar panel installation process take?

This will depend on the size of the project and the complexity. Generally, installations can take up to a couple of weeks. We will give you an accurate break-down of timescales when we put together your bespoke project plan.

What maintenance do solar panels require?

A major benefit of solar panels is how they require very little maintenance. All you need to do is ensure that their surfaces are kept clean. You can arrange for a professional cleaning to visit your site twice a year to clean the panels or you can arrange it yourself. Cleaning panels is no different to windows though we do recommend that any cleaning is done when their is cloud cover as premature drying while cleaning can leave watermarks.

What steps should I take to get started with a solar panel installation for my warehouse?

To get started, simply contact us for an estimate. As your needs will be much more complex than with a residential solar panel installation, we may ask to visit your industrial property before we can give you an accurate quotation. A site visit will also allow us to give you time-scales and plot out the best locations for your solar panels.
